I got . . .

. . . my first batch of prints last night for the convention. For many of the images, its the first time I've seen them in print (some because they're completely new, some because I've completely reworked them).

And can I say I am so excited its ridiculous. They are gorgeous. Unlike Aki Con, I've had plenty of time to prepare these images and get them to a place where they feel finished. And there is such a difference I feel as I look through them. I am so proud of every image. I would buy from me.

I did find a problem - the prints with the"Tea Partying is Hard!" (Adventure Time) image had a slight color issue. I've had a (what time is it?) crazy time (haha sorry Adventure Time joke) getting the colors to come out right no matter where I print that image. I think its because all the colors in it are pretty vivid. Usually it's been problems with the blues being overpowering, but this time it was a problem with the yellows browning out/dulling all the reds in the image. Which is a new one on me.

It's not like they're horrible prints, but pink is a pretty important color in that image. When I contacted my printer they refunded me so I could get replacement prints, but they couldn't offer a solution for guaranteeing color corrected reprints. So I am planning to get reprints from somewhere local. I won't change the image and we'll see how it comes out from a different printer ;-)

I just hope that they use a different machine without that calibration problem for the small posters and that I won't have that issue when the 11x14s arrive!

When I get all the prints labeled and bagged  (protected and ready to sell!) I'll be sure to snap some photos of how they look :-)

All of this - and it's only now March! This weekend I should get a lot more done, my to-do list is shrinking and shrinking. . .what am I going to do with myself when this is all over?!

P.S. The answer to that question is SLEEP.
