I ordered prints for Sakura Con ($214 after saving $170 with a massive discount), ordered business cards (around $20), and am on the road to finishing key chains. The end to the massive amount of preparation work I have to do is in sight and I can't wait for a bit of a break!!
I was just laughing with my sister about what's popular on my deviantart page as compared to what actually sells. It's crazy how large the difference can be between what people like and what people spend money on - no one has ever purchased even one print of the most popular piece I have posted on that website, yet I sell prints like crazy of the other work that doesn't get nearly the same amount of attention.
Speaking of my deviantart page - add "pretty up my webpages with graphics" to my list of to-do. I'm kinda hooked on graphic design stuff lately anyways (as you may notice from the graphic overhaul of my blog - hope you like it!).
I like sharing visuals, so here are the bookmarks I designed (using my artwork) and am having printed. These aren't all of the bookmarks (and not every print I am bringing has a bookmark, some don't work well in a smaller format), but it is most. I feel really good about the diversity of work I'm bringing to the Con, but I'm also getting increasingly nervous about the whole thing as I'm preparing. . . but that's part of why I make myself do this. Because it is me stepping outside of my comfort zone and putting my art out there. Taking a risk.
